The MangoFalls Project News
2006.04.07MangoFalls.com was 'soft launched' today. We're still in the process of fine tuning some items but overall things look good. Hope everyone that stumbles across it in the early days enjoys the experience. Please let us know if you see anything that looks odd in the display or if there is something you'd like to see added to the site.
2006.04.11We've received many emails in the past day asking for more content. We'll plan on updating the site with 3 images a day for the next 2 weeks. This will allow new visitors to spend a little more time of the site. Eventually we will migrate back to uploading only one or two per day.
2006.04.21A package from Belgium arrived today with what appears to be about 60 slides of Mexico in the 60's. There was no note or return address so I can only assume that the person wishes to remain anonymous. Thanks very much for the contribution which will help the project stay alive.
2006.07.05Mangofalls joined the
9Rules Photography Community today. We're pretty excited to make some new friends and are frankly quite flattered to be in such good company.
2006.09.02We hit the 500 image milestone today. It's been a long road that has taken more time than originally planned. The process of scanning the media can eat away several evenings each week. The increased traffic has taken some time to build but we now have a good sized daily viewership.
2006.09.24A new site design was launched this morning. It's quite similar to the other version with regard to color and navigation. What has been removed are the large number of advertisments which detracted from the overall experience. We're going to be more selective in deciding who we allow to advertise as our only goal is to have the revenue pay for the hosting and maintenance costs.
2006.10.11We noticed a spike in traffic this morning and discovered that Yahoo chose us as a pick of the day. Very cool indeed. Check out what
Yahoo thinks of MangoFalls.
